• Almarasan gorge is 20+ km away from Almaty city center
• metal stairs lead from the parking lot to the baths
• stairs are generally comfortable and suitable for most visitors
• if you plan to bathe, bring towels and personal items
• if you hike further, you will find a waterfall

• Ayusai gorge is 20+ km away from Almaty city center
• there is a proper visitor center with modern facilities
• if you hike further, you will find 3 waterfalls
• on-and-off shuttle service operates between the visitor center and the 1st waterfall

If you want to visit all waterfalls at Ayusai gorge, you need to visit Ayusai first, Almarasan second (when there is no snow)

• there is no guarantee that the vehicle will not break down
• provincial infrastructure is less developed compared to the city
• do not expect mobile internet, Wi-Fi, F&B in the province to be as good as in city
• exploring natural sites carries a risk of insect bites
• halal, vegetarian food is available
