Yes, in Almaty there is a park and a monument dedicated to the Father of Indian nation Mahatma Karamchand Gandhi. Moreover, there is a street named after him although it is located far away from the park. The statue was built to bring closer Kazakhstan and India (Hindustan) in terms of culture, economy and politics. Apart from that, as it is known, Gandhi was a proponent of the idea of non-violence. So people come here to celebrate him and his ideas.
